My mobility, corrective exercise, and injury rehab coaching is built for people who:
Have chronic lower back pain that flares up constantly
Sit at a desk all day and feel it in their hips, shoulders, and neck
Have been told they shouldn't lift weights because of an injury or pain
Are training but constantly battling nagging aches that won't go away
Have had surgery and want to rebuild strength and movement properly
Want to understand why they're in pain — not just manage it
After 20 years of coaching in Vancouver the patterns I see constantly are lower back pain from tight hip flexors and weak glutes, knee pain from poor hip mobility, shoulder impingement from rounded posture, and the general stiffness of people who sit for a living. These are all fixable with the right assessment and program.
If that sounds like you, the next step is a free assessment where we look at how you move and build a program that addresses what's actually causing the problem.
Most people dealing with chronic pain, stiffness, or injury have been told one of two things, push through it, or stop training entirely. Both are wrong. Pain is a signal that something in how you're moving needs to be addressed. Fix the movement, and the pain usually follows.
I'm Rob Moal, a mobility trainer and corrective exercise coach in Vancouver certified through the Functional Movement Screen and the Grey Institute. I work with people who have been held back by back pain, knee pain, tight hips, shoulder issues, and the general stiffness that comes from years of desk work, previous injuries, or simply getting older.
I train clients in-person across Downtown Vancouver, Yaletown, Coal Harbour, the West End, Gastown, and the Beach District, and coach online clients across Canada.
The goal isn't to work around your limitations forever. It's to fix them, and build a body that moves well and stays strong long term.
Mobility & Corrective Exercise Coaching In Person Or Online
Everything You Need to Move Better and Train Without Limits
Your movement assessment, corrective program, and strength coaching all in one place. Whether you train in-person in Vancouver or online from anywhere in Canada, you get the same systematic approach to fixing what's been holding you back.
Mobility & Corrective Exercise Training Vancouver
Most trainers respond to pain by avoiding it. I respond by finding out what's causing it and fixing it systematically. I'm certified in FMS and corrective exercise through the Grey Institute. Every program starts with a movement screen and builds from there.
Online mobility and corrective exercise coaching works just as well as in-person for most clients. You get a full assessment, a corrective program, and weekly check-ins delivered anywhere in Canada.
Every client I work with follows a structured program.
Your training, your progress, and your nutrition guidance are all laid out inside the app, so you’re not guessing what to do from session to session.
If you’re training on your own between sessions, traveling, or just working around a busy week, the structure stays the same. That’s what keeps results moving.
Whether you're starting again or looking to level up your training, I'll create a plan built around your schedule, your body, and the results you want.
I've been told I shouldn't lift weights because of my back — is that true?
In the vast majority of cases no. The opposite is usually true — properly programmed strength training is one of the best interventions for chronic pain. What you should avoid is loading poor movement patterns. With correct assessment and programming most people can train effectively through and around chronic pain.
Do you offer both in-person and online mobility coaching?
Yes. I work with clients in-person across Vancouver and coach online clients across Canada. Both include a full movement assessment, corrective program, and weekly check-ins.
Where do you train female clients in Vancouver?
I work with clients at top facilities across Vancouver and offer mobile training for clients in building gyms across Yaletown, Coal Harbour, the West End, Gastown, and the Beach District.
What is the Functional Movement Screen?
The FMS is a standardised movement assessment that scores seven fundamental movement patterns and identifies restrictions and asymmetries that predict injury risk. I use it to identify where your movement is breaking down before we load it.
I've had surgery — can you still work with me?
Depending on what the surgery was and how recently, yes. I always ask for clearance from your doctor or physio before training post-surgery. Once you're cleared to exercise I build a program that respects the surgical site while rebuilding strength and movement around it.
Is this the same as physiotherapy?
No — and I'm not a physiotherapist. For acute injuries and medical-level pain see a physio first. What I do is the exercise programming side — once you're cleared to train I build the program that restores your movement and builds strength around the issue.
